  1. Hey jordansbrains,
I recently finished reading “Jordan’s Brains” and just wanted to say I loved it! I grabbed it up during your special promotion several months back and finally got around to reading it 😉

I am glad to see you are getting pretty favorable reviews on Amazon… I too left a review there and thought it might actually do more good if it was posted on your website here. So here it is:

“Getting to know Zombies”, (June 25, 2014 )
Jordan’s Brains: A Zombie Evolution (Kindle Edition)
Jordan’s Brains was a lot of fun to read. This was my first bit of Zombie fiction (besides the occasional short story) and I must say from the moment I started reading I was Zombie-fied. This was a well thought out novel with a great deal to recommend it.

From the beginning we “get” that there is something just not quite right about Jordan – but since this story is told from Jordan’s perspective you soon get the feeling that just maybe Jordan has it together way more than people are ready to give credit.

An apocalyptic thrill-ride you will not soon forget. Nice work J. Cornell Michel!

By the way – I knew going in to the story that Jordan’s gender would not be revealed in the story and forgot to be mindful of that as I read. I did ultimately assign a gender in my mental image fairly early on in the reading and held that notion throughout. You mentioned that perhaps you wrote the story with the gender in mind but hesitated revealing it. I think it would be kind of interesting to create a poll on your website here to see what most folks think about that mystery. Just a thought… 😀

I must add, that just in writing the review and this note I found it to be a challenge to remain gender neutral in my comments, so I can only imagine the challenges (and fun) you must have faced in creating this most enjoyable work of fiction.

    Thank you!

    • Thanks so much for reading and reviewing Jordan’s Brains! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I like your idea about creating a poll to find out if people think Jordan is male or female. The majority of the men I’ve asked think Jordan is female, while most women think Jordan is male (not sure what that means, but it’s sort of interesting). Jordan’s Brains was a challenge to write, but I loved every minute of it!

  2. I’ve had this book since 2013, when I was lucky enough to stumble across it at FandomFest in Kentucky. I had even gotten it signed! It’s been one of my very favorite books since then, and I have no clue how it hasn’t become super popular and made into a first person perspective movie yet.
Anyway, I am starting to share it with my friends (High school student now, sophomore), and so far every one of them LOVES it.

Hope you have a great night and remember, zombies are people too!
